Last Day of 2014

So it's going to be a brand new year in 5 minutes time.

This year hasn't been really smooth I must say. Things took a turn at the beginning of the year and had experience what is "night life" means when I first got into Thai Disco, and my every fri/sat clubbing sessions for the short 2-3 months. I had my share of vomiting, hang over and turning up for work the next day. Oh gosh, worst feeling EVER.

Anyway, I passed my basic theory but after that got lazy to proceed, so 2015 will be my motivation to do it!

Most importantly, I want to thank those who stayed through with me, especially my cousins and my boyfriend :) you know who you are, thank you for being a part of my life.

Lastly, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Pore Care = Good Skin

In the past, I used to look at forum for all kinds of make up brands, foundations... eyeliner.. eye shadow and even lipsticks. Now that I have out of that phase, I focus on skincare more than make up.

During my days working at Fancl Sg, I truly appreciate the essential step of basic cleansing for zit-free days. Of course, that excludes that time of the month, even the girls with the smoothest skin will encounter such problems.

I have always face sure that my sunscreen is removed thoroughly at the end of the day, by using my ever trustworthy Fancl Cleansing Oil which I have major loves for it! Tried DHC before, not bad but its "oilier" than Fancl's. So I also double cleanse with a facial foam, and ta tah!

I will have small pimples popping out once a while, if its just a normal bump, I would use my Innisfree Anti-Trouble Spot Essence W (reviewed before), sometimes it works, sometimes it don't.

However, if its an ANGRY pimple, I would use a product which is drying to dries it up. I am using The Face Shop's clean away spot. It's SUPER DUPER good.

Once or twice a week, I would use Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Masks in a tub so that my pores are kept clean!

It's really that simple to have zit-free face, but most of the time it requires ample discipline from a woman to do such a 'chore'. As for me, this 'chore' has been an everyday affair, so I have kind of got used to it. Though I loves skincare, I don't anyhow splurge money $$$ on things which are not suitable for me. Remember to research on the product online, read reviews and check their ingredients. Most products contains paraben, this cannot be avoided since it helps to make the product last longer, just have to make sure it is one of the least ingredient in the list. Most importantly, start using sunblock/sunscreen early! Your skin will thank you in 10 to 20 years down the road, especially when you will look younger and fairer than your schoolmates during gathering. HAHA, I have not reach that stage, but this is what I heard...

Taipei Trip: 18.09.14 - 23.09.14 (Day 5 - Day 6)

Day 5: Hello Kitty Café > Kong Kee Pastries > Shi Da Night Market > Holiday KTV

On our second last day, my initial plan was to go try Jin Feng Lu Rou Fan 金峰卤肉饭, visit Longshan Temple, and Huaxi Night Market. But we had a change last minute.

We had breakfast at MacDonald's. Its cheaper than Singapore and they have pork burger.

My boy told me that I wore my top inside out. LOL! He kept laughing at me... and even took a picture to show me.

See my buay song face?

Actually I do not have a liking for Hello Kitty, it's just a cat seriously.
But I'm here to get some plushies for my cousin who LOVES hello kitty.

Since I'm here, why not take some pictures with the cat with no mouth?
:)

Okay, then we train back to Ximending to put our buys back in hotel.
While walking back, naughty boy wanted some ice cream, so we went into Cold Stone.

Wanted to get some souvenirs back for my family and colleagues, so we headed to Kong Kee for sun biscuits, taro pastries and pineapple tarts.

We then proceed to Shi Da Night Market around noon time.
Take train to Taipower Building MRT Station (green line) and exit no. 3

I remembered walking a long stretch of road, you can ask the students there because there is no specific ShiDa Night Market sign on the map.

We had our dinner at this Japanese style restaurant.
Love Taiwan's beef noodle :)

This drink is highly recommended by us!
Please get the large cup because you will be sipping throughout the journey and realised its gone in no time :)

The clothes there are more fashionable and suitable for Singaporeans, especially those kids you see at Orchard. You may want to go here instead of Wufenpu that kns place.

We headed back to hotel to changed something warmer, and headed to Holiday KTV.

LOL its a little hard to navigate around the screen as all Chinese words, my boy had difficulty reading all without any images of the singers.
So that's something you might want to take note, and their KTV comprises of a few storeys high.

Day 6: Taipei underground mall > Ximending > Taoyuan Airport

Its the last day in Taipei! We went back to Q square to walk around and back to Ximending for last Ah Zhong Mian Xian. Initially wanted to go back Yong Kang beef noodle but I was feeling uncomfortable to carry the backpack around with my stuffs inside.

Took photos with ah mao , the risotto dog LOL

hoo hoo... ah mao don't like naughty boy.

Q square interior looks like that. They even have locker for you to put your bags in, so nice of them!

FYI, there are a few malls in Taipei Main Station

Went to see see look look at their underground malls, nothing much so we went back Q square instead.

Back to ximending to get some more candies for people around us.

We had hired a cab driver over our hotel counter, the rate is NTD1100 = SGD 47.

As we left NTD300 to spare, we were looking for proper meal that cost NTD150 each.
Below is our early dinner before the flight!
Look at it, its filled with wholesome ingredients, inclusive of a bowl of soup and a bowl of red bean soup as dessert.

Couldn't believe it is so cheap lor.

Taipei Trip: 18.09.14 - 23.09.14 (Day 3 - Day 4)

Day 3: Xi Men Ding > Ariel Le Café @ Taipei Main Station Q Square > Dan Shui Lao Jie > Fisherman's wharf > Shilin Night Market

We always try to wear similar colours when we are out :)

Finally tried the ever popular Ah Zhong Mian Xian, but it taste rather normal according to my boy.
I kinda like it, especially their chilli, its damn spicy!! But its good heat, not those that you will end up in diarrhea kind.

As we have some time before heading to Dan Shui, told bb that I wanted to try a café with waffles and cakes at Taipei Main Station Q Square.

We were walking around till 3pm plus, because we wanted to claim GST refund. LOL typical tourists but in the end we were not able to accumulate NTD3000 within a single day, so wasted.

So we realised many elderly will beg for unwanted receipts, then got to know that their receipts has lucky draw function every 3 months.

Okay, set off to Dan Shui! From Taipei main station, take the red line all the way up and alighted at Dan Shui Station.

Follow the crowd towards the sea, and walk all the way along the stretch with those old school games and stalls..

what got my boy excited is the squids over in Taipei, so cheap and huge.

Bought ferry tickets for round trip for about NTD200+ per pax, and we followed the queue behind us thereafter to 渔人码头.

That girl is damn extra -_-

We did not cross that lover's bridge as I have heard from my good friend that most of her couple friends ended up not together, so LOL, pantang abit ah.

Things we bought at Dan Shui Lao Jie are 薑母茶 and other flavours as well and a couple portrait of us, which the artist drew us in wedding gown and suit .. dot LOL. It's expensive around NTD700 and don't really look like us except my teeth! hahha

For Shilin Night Market, take the red back to Jiantan Station.

Things to eat here are:

+ Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang 大腸包小腸
+ Qi Shi Ma Ling Shu (Cheese Potato)
+ Ji Pai Chicken Cutlet
+刀削面
+蚵仔煎
+炒花枝
+十全排骨
+ smelly toufu
+ fen yuan jia lu dou
+ Mango Ice
+ Lemon Aiyu Jelly
+ Shen Jian Bao

I like this :) I thought it would be too cheesy for me, but surprisingly I liked it.

Saw a snake in it and bb took out his phone to take a picture of it.

As we were too full, so we packed this chicken cutlet back to hotel for supper

Day 4: Wu Fen Pu > Ciyou Temple & Raohe Night Market > Ximending

We initially planned to go Taipei 101, but when we were on the third night, news have been speculating that the typhoon will come to Taipei plus the weather there started to drizzle, knowing that going to Taipei 101 will required some walking, we decided to forgo this plan there.

As it was drizzling at Ximending, we had Japanese ramen, and it is really damn shiok to eat.
Ahh I missed the ramen there, cheap and delicious. Not like Singapore's poor standard.

We ordered two bowls of ramen with drinks, 1 gyoza and 1 fried chicken.
If I remember correctly, the total bill came up less than SGD30, considering the bowl of ramen only cost about NTD 160 = SGD 6.80!

Tip #5: Try to avoid WuFenPu on Mondays as they usually cater to wholesaler's business.
PS// Honestly I don't like WuFenPu, their clothes are... not like Singapore and they generally sell the same thing.
So I suggest to forgo Wufenpu.

But if you still want to go, well, take train to Hou Shan Pi Station

Alternatively, you may want to take train to Taipei Main Station, then head towards to take TRA to Song Shan Station. If seems nearer and faster by taking TRA too.

But we took the MRT as we only realised it is nearer to take TRA to Songshan Station when we were heading back.

Some old school goodies displayed at Songshan Station

Went to Ciyou Temple to pray pray.. :)

Thereafter, we headed into the Raohe Night Market. As it was the start of the "typoon", there weren't many stalls opened :(

Things to eat:

+ Grilled scallops
+ Japanese Okonomiyaki
+ Yong Chun Juan
+ Snow Ice
+ Lu Rou Fan 须张 Zhang xu xu
+ Grilled squid ***
+ Hu Jiao Bing
+ Chen Dong Medicinal Spareribs
+ mushroom
+ smelly toufu
+ Chicken drumstick roll Ji Dui Juan
+ aiyu jelly

Tried this Hu Jiao Bing, its usually long queue, but no one is walking on the street so I got it within seconds. LOL

Duno considered lucky or suay?

Went back to Ximending since we did not have any proper meal at Raohe, we settled for below for dinner.
